tools, equipment and materials
All the tools and equipment needed are provided by the tutor at each course.
Materials are not included, but can be purchased at each course or students are welcome to bring any of their own materials


beadstringing with leather and cord
1 day course

The class is aimed at beginner / beginner plus students.

Learn how to make a variety of beaded jewellery using leather and cord. You will be working with beads, leather, cords and plated components.

includes:
learning about the materials / tips for beadstringing using these materials, learning / practising how to use spring ends with leather making basic necklace design, how to use jump rings to attach a fastener, how to knot cord, 2 strand bracelet and necklace designs, how to use foldover ends, some further knots, further designs.

Materials can be purchased from the tutor or bring along your own materials to use: 2mm leather, 2mm cords, 1mm cords, foldover ends, spring ends, clasps, jump rings, range of beads with 1-4mm holes.

twisted wire; tiaras and hair accessories
1 day course

The class accommodates different skill levels, students can choose their own level of work depending on how easy they find the techniques.

Learn how to make a variety of different types of twisted stems and create a twisted wire style tiara or aliceband. You will be working with beads, wire and plated components.

Later in the afternoon, you can either develop your tiara design further or there are optional designs to choose from - twisted wire haircomb or hairpins - with the option of also wrapping your tiara base with beads.

includes:
learning/ practising how to make different twisted wire stem designs, choosing your tiara design and creating it using the stem techniques you have learnt, wrapping the tiara base with beads, making twisted stems on hairpins/grips and combs.

Materials can be purchased from the tutor or bring along your own materials to use: 0.4 / 0.5mm wire, tiara base / alice band, hair grips/pins, haircomb, range of beads

beadstringing with tigertail thread
1 day course

The class is aimed at beginner / beginner plus students.

Learn how to make a variety of beaded jewellery using tigertail thread. You will be working with beads, tigertail thread and plated components.

includes:
learning / practising how to use crimps with tigertail thread making basic bead earrings, different types of patterns / designs that can be used, how to start and finish off / tension, making a beaded bracelet, how to use jump rings to attach a fastener, floating style necklace design and optional further earring designs.

Materials can be purchased from the tutor or bring along your own materials to use: tigertail thread, crimps, earring hooks, clasps, jump rings, range of beads.
