| This
class is suitable for both beginners and students that have attended
any of the other bebeady courses and want to learn about further
materials and designs
You will be
creating jewellery with beads, leather, suede / faux suede, cord
thong and plated components
Morning
- Intro to
tools and beads
- Intro to
different types of leather thong and using 2mm leather thong to
create a basic necklace, how to use coil ends and fasteners, tips,
followed by practise session
- Intro to
using faux suede and suede to create a basic necklace, bracelet
or earrings, how to use foldover ends, tips, followed by practise
session
- Intro to
different types of cord and designs using 1mm cord to make choker
style knotted necklace or bracelet designs, tips, followed by
practise session
- Intro to
designs using the cord to make long necklace designs with a feature
bead, tips, followed by practise session
Afternoon
- Intro to
further techniques, how to create a slip knot or slip bead and
lark's head knot, tips, followed by practise session
- Intro to
fringe design, tips, followed by practise session
- further designs
/ opportunity to work further on any of the designs that have
been covered during the day
- completing
any unfinished piece of jewellery
- Intro to
other types of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback
The
day course includes:
many demos, examples, some handouts, opportunity for questions and
answers, practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance. |

Materials are
available and can be purchased on the course (approx £5 -
£10, depending on the beads, other material chosen) or you
are welcome to bring any of your own materials with you.
Materials
list
If you wish to bring some of your own materials for the course,
you will need:
a variety of beads with different sized holes, 1mm and 2mm, larger
holed focal beads, 2mm leather thong or/and faux suede/suede and
cord thong, 1mm cord thong and some plated components (coil ends,
foldover end fasteners, clasps and jump rings) optional:
pendants (ie. glass pendant or large shell) and extension chain
