1 day jewellery making course

This class is suitable for beginners plus and continuing students wishing to work with illusion cord (monofilament).

You will have the opportunity to explore a variety of designs and make bracelets and/or necklaces with beads, illusion cord and plated components.

Morning

• Intro to monofilament, tools etc
• Intro to using monofilament to create a basic beaded bracelet
• Intro to how to use calottes
• Intro to using jump rings & attaching fasteners
• Intro to 3 or 4 strand knotted together necklace / bracelet designs and practising technique
• Intro to different techniques for individually knotting each bead and designs / practising these techniques

Afternoon

• Choosing one of the floating style knotted designs to create a bracelet or necklace
• Further designs using monofilament
• Completing any unfinished piece of jewellery
• Intro to other types of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback

The day course includes:
some demos, examples, handouts, opportunity for questions and answers, practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance.

Materials are available and can be purchased on the course (approx £4 - £8, depending on the beads, other material chosen) or you are welcome to bring any of your own materials with you. A materials list will be emailed with the class booking deposit receipt.
