beads and wire, tiara designs
1 day jewellery making course

This class will be focusing on making tiaras. By the end of day you will have made a tiara (or possibly 2 tiaras) and some hair grips. You will be creating your jewellery with beads, wire and plated components.

This class is learning how to make a basic twisted and wrapped style tiara with the option of also making a flower beaded focal piece that can be attached to a tiara base, hairclip or brooch wrapped or developing your twisted/wrapped tiara further in the afternoon.

The designs on the day course will accommodate different skill levels, as each design can be made using basic skills, but can be developed further by students with intermediate wire skills and students can choose their own level of work depending on how easy they find the techniques.

Making a twisted wire style tiara is a bit fiddly and quite tiring for fingers/hands, so you can always alter your design and just include a smaller twisted wire section. There will be some jewellery making magazines and books, so feel free to take a break from twisting whenever you need one. In the afternoon there is the opportunity for those students who want a break from twisting to make the beaded flower design.
