This class is
a beginner level class it is also suitable for continuing students
wishing to practise their basic loops further*
You will be
creating jewellery with beads, wire, jump rings, hoops, chain and
plated components
Morning
- Intro to
tools, beads and components
- Intro to
technique used to create a basic loop, followed by practise session
- Intro to
how to make a basic pair of earrings/pendant using wire components
and beads, followed by practise session
- Intro to
multi-loop earrings, how to make a pair of earrings/pendant using
wire, jump rings, components and beads, followed by practise session
- Intro to
bracelet designs incorporating bead sections & jump rings,
different types of clasps, how to attach a clasp, tips, followed
by practise session
Afternoon
- Intro to
different types of multi-loop jewellery designs incorporating
chains and hoops, tips, followed by choice of project work
- Completing
any unfinished pieces of jewellery
- Intro to
other type of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback
The
day course includes:
many demos, examples, some handouts, opportunity for questions and
answers, practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance.
*continuing
students: after practising making loops in the morning you will
move onto creating a variety of multi-loop earrings instead of basic
earrings |

Materials are
available and can be purchased on the course (approx £3 -
£10, depending on the beads chosen) or you are welcome to
bring any of your own materials with you.

If you wish to bring some of your own materials for the course,
you will need:
beads, 0.6mm wire, chain (medium curb is quite versatile, also cable
or belcher) and some plated components (clasps, hoops, earring hooks,
headpins and jump rings)
optional: split
rings and extension chain
