This class is
a beginner level class. Although students that have some jewellery
making skills, may wish to attend to practise their loops and learn
how to make a variety of charm style designs.
You will be
creating jewellery with beads, chain and plated components.
Morning
- Intro to
tools, beads and components
- Intro to
technique used to create a basic loop, followed by practise session
- Intro to
how to make a basic pair of earrings/pendant using wire components
and beads, followed by practise session
- Intro to
making a bag / mobile phone charm, tips, followed by practise
session
- Intro to
basic charm bracelet, different types of chains/clasps, how to
attach a clasp, tips, followed by practise session
Afternoon
- Intro to
further designs of charm bracelets and necklaces, followed by
practise session
- Intro to
different types of charm jewellery, ie. earrings, pendants and
tips, followed by practise session / or finishing off other jewellery
- Completing
unfinished jewellery items
- Intro to
other type of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback
The
day course includes:
some demos, examples, handouts, opportunity for questions and answers,
practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance |

Materials are
available and can be purchased on the course (approx £3 -
£10, depending on the beads chosen) or you are welcome to
bring any of your own materials with you.

need:
beads, chain (medium curb is quite versatile) and some plated components
(bag clips, clasps, earring hooks, headpins and jump rings)
optional: pendant
bail, mobile phone clip and extension chain
