Develop your
wire skills further on this follow-on wire skills class, which is
suitable for students that have attended one or more beginner beads
and wire classes or students with self-taught wire skills and feel
reasonably confident using the tools.
You will be
creating jewellery with beads, wire and plated components
Morning
- Brief intro
to tools and different types of wire
- Intro to
creating a basic scroll, tips, followed by practise session
- Intro to
making wrapped loops, followed by practise session making scroll
bead earrings and a pendant
- Intro to
creating wrapped loop bead segments, how to attach sections together,
tips, followed by practise session making a wrapped loop bead
bracelet and/or earrings
- Intro to
creating a range of wrapped bead designs, tips, followed by practise
session
Afternoon
- Intro to
creating further wrapped bead designs, tips, followed by practise
session
- Intro to
jewellery designs using the wrapped beads, followed by creating
jewellery using the wrapped beads you have created, ie. earrings
and a necklace or bracelet
- Completing
unfinished jewellery items
- Intro to
other types of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback
The
day course includes:
many demos, examples, some handouts, opportunity for questions and
answers, practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance. |

Materials are
available and can be purchased on the course (approx £2 -
£5, depending on the beads chosen) or you are welcome to bring
any of your own materials with you.

If you wish to bring some of your own materials for the course,
you will need:
beads, 0.6mm and 0.8mm plated wire, and some plated components (earring
hooks, pendant bails, clasps and jump rings)
optional: 0.5mm wire, chain (medium curb is quite versatile) and
extension chain
