This
class is an intermediate level class suitable for students that
have attended one or more beads and wire courses and feel reasonably
confident using the tools and wish to develop their wire skills
further.
You will be
creating jewellery with beads and wire.
Morning
- Intro to
different types of wire
- Intro to
how to make a 'figure of 8' eye clasp, followed by practise session
- Intro to
using figure of 8's in jewellery pieces, creating earrings, pendants
and bracelets (or necklaces), incorporating either wrapped loop
bead segments or basic loop bead segments, tips, followed by practise
session
- Intro to
creating a basic hook, followed by practise session
- Intro to
further clasps and hooks, tips, followed by practise session
- Choosing
one of the hook designs to complete your bracelet / necklace design
Afternoon
- Intro to
creating a variety of earring hooks, tips, followed by practise
session and using them to complete your earring designs
- Intro to
creating an 's' hook and variations, followed by practise session
- Intro to
using figure 's' hooks in jewellery pieces, followed by practise
session
- Completing
any unfinished pieces of jewellery
- Intro to
other types of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback
The
day course includes:
many demos, examples, some handouts, opportunity for questions and
answers, practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance. |

Materials are
available and can be purchased on the course (approx £2 -
£5, depending on the beads chosen) or you are welcome to bring
any of your own materials with you.

beads, 0.6mm and 0.8mm plated wire
optional: 1mm wire, chain (medium curb is quite versatile)
