This
class is suitable for both beginners and students that have attended
any of the other bebeady classes and wish to try out using memory
wire to make jewellery. As a material, memory wire is a bit harder
to use and so this class is a bit more difficult than some of the
other beginner classes.
You will be
creating bracelets and necklaces with beads, memory wire and plated
components. Also coiled loop earrings and optional pendant/drops.
Morning
- Brief intro
to the tools we will be using, memory wire, beads and components
- Intro to
the technique used to create a 'p' loop
- Intro to
using memory wire to make a wraparound bracelet, various designs
and how to finish off the ends
- Intro to
creating a coil loop* and making earrings and optional pendants
for the memory wire choker design
- Intro to
choker necklace designs (optional: adding charms) and how to finish
of the ends
- Intro to
using jump rings & attaching fasteners
Afternoon
- Intro to
making cuff style bracelet designs
- Intro to
further designs; pendants, earrings and rings using memory wire
- Opportunity
to work further on any of the designs that have been covered during
the day
- Completing
any unfinished piece of jewellery
- Intro to
other types of jewellery courses on offer and course feedback
The
day course includes:
many demos, examples, some handouts, opportunity for questions and
answers, practical work and 1-1 tutor assistance.
*students
that have already learnt how to make earrings on a beginner wire
course: can choose one of the optional further memory wire designs,
ie. rings or earrings/pendants, make another bracelet or browse
through jewellery making books/magazines |
