tiaras
October 2011 - Alston Hall college class
- did a slight variation of my normal tiaras class, as
it had an optional brooch design, instead of the flower design
which needs more time.
With it being a college class, the room allocated for it depends
on class size, other classes that are running and their class
sizes. But as it was just a group of 8 students we fitted
into the music room, which is lovely, beautiful view over
the countryside and all students can work on a rectangular
table format... this all helped to make the class vibe better.
"Brilliant
course, very well presented. Lots of ideas and materials available.
Music room excellent." Cheryl
"Really
good group, tutor was excellent, very knowledgeable and passed
on her knowledge in a fun, friendly way. Have had a good day,
would definitely recommend this course and do a follow-on
one." Anne |

wire skills, jig jewellery: September 2011 at Cedar Farm
"Fab
as usual, but much harder than I thought! Lovely group of
ladies, really enjoyed the day, thanks Samantha." Ann-Marie
"Excellent
tuition. I enjoyed it very much." Christine
"Mind
boggling! Made me work!" Doris
"Excellent
teaching, a good chance to use all the different types of
jigs." Jane
"Enjoyed
immensely, although ruined my nails... Due to complexity of
new skills learnt did not make as many finished items as usual.
Interesting to learn about different jig types." Carol
"Very
enjoyable day." Gill

don't
always get time to take any photos at the classes, but will
be adding one or two from the jig class, when I find out how
to download them from my phone! Samantha x |

Farm
"Enjoyed

classes." Wendy
"Excellent
as always - lots of inspiration. Pity we didn't have time
to make the gorgeous fringed necklace. Something to make at
home." Angela
"Brilliant

pieces at home." Ann-Marie
"Brilliant
classes. You learn so much and always want to learn more.
thank you" Gail
"Very
enjoyable day as usual" Gill
"Very
good." Barbara
"Really
enjoyed the day. Very productive day" Kathryn
how
could the course be improved:
'more handouts' (To save paper, I'd printed this classes
6 handouts double sided, but I will go back to printing them
on separate sheets of paper... my bebeady day classes include
approx 4 to 6 related handouts, these handouts are not meant
to be full worksheets, as students can make further notes
if needed. Samantha)
This
was the last further tigertail class at Cedar
Farm, the next one will be at my home. I'm cutting down on
the number of 'further skills' classes I teach, as there is
less demand for them. But I still aim to run 2-3 further skills
classes each year at Cedar Farm. More details in 2012, Samantha

It was
a super class, everyone did really well, made excellent progress
with their twisting and gorgeous tiaras. 'thanks for all the
great feedback, I do really enjoy teaching the class!'
Over the last few years, people have come from allover the North
West and UK to do my tiaras class... they do the class for all
sorts of reasons; a day out, to learn new skills / techniques,
to make a tiara for their daughter/ grand-daughter or for their
own wedding, to make tiaras to sell, bakers for cake toppers,
florists, tailoresses, card makers!

have to have done anything like this before, but you'll definitely

"Hi,
Thank you so much for two really good jewellery courses this
weekend. I really appreciated the fact that you taught us
the relevant techniques with lots of tips & pointers but
let us create what we wanted. Consequently I am really pleased
with the items I made & feel confident to make more. Unlike
a previous course I attended associated in a retail outlet
you taught us ways of doing things keeping purchases to a
minimum which is very helpful.
Please could you put my name on your mailing list I would
love to attend further courses."
With Best Wishes
